Zakat al-maal on business stock
What you hold to sell counts; what you work with does not.
Zakat al-maal on a business
Count what you hold to sell, at what it would sell for, with the business’s cash and money owed to it, less what it owes now. Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz took one in forty from traders’ goods (Muwatta Malik, Book 17, no. 19), as on savings (Sunan Abi Dawud 1573).
You can calculate your zakat on cash, gold and savings before you choose where it goes. DonateOpenly sets out how it scores each charity, from fundraising costs to reporting.
