Zakat al-maal on shares and funds

Two ways to count shares, depending on why you hold them.

Zakat al-maal on shares

It depends why you hold them. Shares bought to sell on are counted like trading stock, at their full market value on your zakat day.

You can give your zakat through DonateOpenly, with every payment shown in the open. See the biggest Muslim charities in the UK and what they spend.
